Neshkoro was chosen by the Wisconsin Arts Board, to host an Artist and Community Collaboration Project: June Schumacher was the artist and with her assistance a community mural was put together like a friendship quilt. Local high school senior, Alysa Overback, was chosen to paint the center and the individual surrounding pieces were painted in partnership with the Neshkoro Healthy Youth Healthy Community youth group, the Neshkoro Senior Center, local businesses, church organizations and members of local civic groups. They then became banners that were exhibited on poles along Main Street over the summer months. They were taken down and assembled into a wall mural for the Second Annual Scarecrow Festival. The mural was sponsored in part by funding from the Wisconsin State Arts Board and the National Endowment for the Arts.
